Today’s column in the Portland Press Herald is a soft, slightly cute kiss-off to still wine. I mean, sure, every once in a while, you might as well take a sip of a wine with no bubbles. But really, try not to get yourself in those situations. Instead, drink true, truly made, traditionally made sparkling wine. It need not — ought not — be Champagne. For less than $20, you can find thrilling, distinctive sparkling wines that will light up any meal, from take-out to festive, and sure, be lovely on their own as well…
