Pinot Blanc, yet another “wine vegetable” you should be drinking, but like kale it’s so yummy

After three weeks off (I was in Italy, boo hoo for me), I’m back to writing weekly wine columns, and here’s the latest, a celebration of that too-little-known gem of a grape, Pinot Blanc. Pinot Blanc wines are made in surprisingly varied styles, from many of the world’s great wine regions, and I only touch on a few here (Alto Adige, Alsace, Oregon, California). But check it out. These wines are very friendly, very character-ful, very distinctive.
I call Pinot Blanc a “wine vegetable”, by the way, because it’s like, here’s yet another slightly scolding screed about what you ought to be drinking. I don’t like coming at it all from that angle. But the wine is so delicious! So lovely with all sorts of foods! So inexpensive for what it is, too. Enjoy.
