Italy, thanks to California

Oops, when the article printed in the Portland Press Herald, I forgot to post here a link to it. It’s about Jim Moore, winemaker at Uvaggio in Lodi, California. Yes, Lodi. Yes, California. And yes, Uvaggio. Sounds Italian because it is, pretty much. The Uvaggio Vermentino tastes like Vermentino from Sardegna. The Primitivo is great: maybe a touch less, er, rustic than Primitivo from Puglia (its native home in the heel of Italy’s boot). Smooth but still full of character. Anyway, it’s an interesting story, and the wines are worth checking out.
